THE
PROBLEM: "There is no difference, for
all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God..."
(Romans 3:22b - 23). We differ in many ways from each
other, but when we stand before a holy and righteous
God, there is "no difference." Each one
of us has sinned and continually falls short of the
glory of God. None of us measures up to His standard.
We are all sinners.
THE
PENALTY: "Therefore, just as sin entered the world through
one man, and death through sin, and in this way death
came to all men, because all have sinned…"
(Romans 5:12). This verse tells us why there is "no
difference." It is because we are all related
to that "one man,” Adam. It was through
Adam that "death came to all men." It is
something like a mother on drugs passing her drugs
to her new born baby. However, our condition is much
worse. We all share the same penalty - DEATH.
THE
PROVISION: "But
God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While
we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans
5:8). God proved His love for us through the death
of His Son, Jesus.
THE
PROCLAMATION: "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift
of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
(Romans 6:23). This is one of the greatest statements
in the Bible - "the gift of God is eternal life
in Jesus Christ our Lord." Interestingly, the
only way to receive God's gift of eternal life is
to receive Christ, because eternal life is "in
Christ." Well then, how does a person receive
Christ?
THE
PLAN: "For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord
will be saved." (Romans 10:13). The word "call"
means "to appeal to,”like in prayer."
This means that YOU can call on the name of the Lord
and be saved.
You
can do that right where you are, right now. Ask God
to forgive you of your sin based on what Jesus did for
you. Ask Him to make you His child and to give you eternal
life. If you are not sure you understand, please contact
